All Civilian Lives Matter

In these uncertain times, with violence spreading throughout the world, it is important for each of us to take a moment and reflect what this means for us. As we get bombarded with images and videos from these conflicts all over the world, we must remember that we have principles and values. We have compassion. We have empathy.

We are being coaxed from all sides to declare our allegiance to one side or another. Either you MUST by pro-Israel, pro-Palestine, pro-Ukraine, etc. But that is a false-binary, a trick and an illusion.

What about being absolutely anti-war?

Remember, you don’t have to get bogged down in the mire of conflicts going on around the world. We don’t have to let our cortisol rise to the point where we are feeling unsettled or in fear. These are the traps that have been laid before us, and we don’t have to engage.

It has been absolutely disgusting to see, over the last few days, large influential people take to social media to posture and exude all sorts of rhetoric that insinuates and encourages violence. As Ryan says in the clip above, these people should be called out. It is unacceptable to call for the blood of innocent civilians in response to whatever may be happening around the world, regardless of the nature of the events.

It shouldn’t be a stretch to say the simple phrase “All Civilian Lives Matter” in response to the conflicts that are happening around the world. Whatever these diabolically evil governments wish to inflict on each other, it is always unacceptable to take vengeance or initiate violence on civilian populations.

Of course, the US is guilty of that, just as much as anyone else, and we firmly admonish those actions as well.

The Worst Life Coach Ever

I liken the US Government to a psychotic, damaged, self-appointed self-help Guru or Life Coach who has never taken a single moment to do any of the inner work themselves. This Life Coach literraly has bodies in his basement, kidnaps and traffics children, murders innocent people for profit, yet still has a YouTube channel and makes lots of money trying to tell other people how to live and improve their lives. Would you listen to a Life Coach like this? I certainly wouldn’t.

I was talking to Ryan earlier today, and he said it best:

When so many of the world’s problems can be tied directly back to belligerent war-focused US/western foreign policy, its important — more than ever during moments of emotional or political fervor — to realize that those suffering the brunt of those western created problems have a very different view of the so-called “rules based international order”, especially when those shown to be repeatedly responsible are rarely, if ever, held accountable for their actions, even when proven to be deliberate, as we are seeing today.

-Ryan C

That is such a key point. As we witness one crisis after another, we can almost always trace them back to decisions, funding, training, etc that was provided by the United States warmongering government. Whether it’s Al Qaida, the current regime in Ukraine, proxy armies in Syria, all of the bloodshed can be traced back to the US. And what’s worse, as the truth of US involvement in each of these situations gets exposed, no one is every held accountable and the regime just carries on to the next one.

We Have To Be Better

As we have seen over and over, much of the footage that gets shared regarding certain world events turns out to be misrepresented. Often the footage is from a conflict that happened years ago in different parts of the world. Who knows what the true origin of these posts is; is it deliberate? Is it malicious? Is it done in a way to propagandize the public? Is it done to discredit certain individuals who fall for the trap and share that footage, only to be proven wrong at a later time?

It is absolutely crucial to use our critical thinking and research skills to fully vey any information that we come across before sharing it, at the very least to maintain credibility, but more importantly, to make sure that accurate information gets proliferated.

Look Outside

As we continue to get bombarded with images of horror and atrocitiy, without knowing whether these things are real or not, take a moment and look outside. It’s a beautiful day (or night). Maybe instead of changing our profile pictures to flags of Ukraine, Israel, Palestine, or whatever, we stand proud in being who we are, enlightened and sovereign people who are working hard to build the new world that all of us in this realm deserve.
